The CBC has reported that one of its pioneering performers on Canadian television in the 1950s and '60s has died.
Juliette Cavazzi _ who performed professionally under only her first name _ was 91.
The CBC reported on Friday that friends and family confirmed Cavazzi died overnight Thursday.
Cavazzi, born in St. Vital, Man., headlined the wholesome CBC musical variety program ``The Juliette Show'' for 10 years beginning in 1956, where she was introduced as ``your pet, Juliette.''
The Canadian Encyclopedia called it ``one of Canada's most popular television shows'' of the day, regularly ranking just behind ``Hockey Night in Canada'' and the national news, thanks in large part to Cavazzi's ``folksy pop style and easy rapport with an audience.''
She was named a member of the Order of Canada and was honoured on Canada's Walk of Fame.
