The provincial government is cutting more than $600,000 in funding for the mobile cancer screening bus that operates in St. Catharines, Fort Erie and Port Colborne, along with Hamilton and Burlington.
Screen for Life offers convenient cancer screening for people who have trouble accessing services.
Susan Venditti, executive director of Start Me Up Niagara, tells CKTB the bus would visit Niagara at least twice a year and it's going to be missed by those who need it most.
She says "it's very difficult for the most vunerable to take less all the time."
Hamilton Health Sciences will fund the bus until the end of March.
