Officials with a cannabis company that operates a greenhouse in Pelham say they will be destroying millions of dollars worth of inventory.
CannTrust's Board of Directors has announced plans to destroy approximately $12 million of biological assets and $65 million worth of inventory not authorized by the company's licence.
The inventory being destroyed includes product returned by patients, distributors, and retailers after Health Canada flagged compliance issues.
In mid-September the regulatory body suspended CannTrust's licenses to produce or sell cannabis.
Company officials say they will not challenge the partial suspensions and are destroying the product as part of their ongoing remediation efforts.
