A lucky break for a Welland family.
Fire officials say they were called to a home last week after a carbon monoxide alarm went off.
When fire crews arrived, tests confirmed the presence of CO2 in the home and the family was quickly evacuated.
Firefighters then determined the gas was coming from an area near the kitchen stove.
Family members were taken to hospital as a precaution and tests confirmed they had the deadly gas in their system.
The gas company was called in and confirmed the stove was the source of the CO leak.
Fire officials say the family is now considering switching to an electric stove.
