The animal shelter, Cats on Queen, in downtown Niagara Falls will be closed until further notice.
The city's humane society posting a notice on its Facebook page, the adoption centre was broken into overnight Friday.
Society president Matthew Granville writes we are are thankful no animals were harmed during the break in and all the cats have been moved to their other adoption centre on Montrose Road.
Granville thanks police for their quick response to the break in and asks anyone with information about the incident to contact the NRP.
