Hamilton police have charged a man with dangerous driving causing death after a crash on the Mountain last month that killed a man from Welland.
The head-on crash happened on Upper James Street just before midnight on Aug. 29 when two vehicles heading in opposite directions collided near Homestead Drive.
One was a Ford F-150 pick up truck, the other a Volkswagen Beetle.
The Beetle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say a 19-year-old Hamilton man was arrested Friday and charged with dangerous driving causing death.
A police news release says "the investigation is ongoing but speed has been identified as a contributing factor."
The 19-year-old will appear in court next month
