A special Christmas tradition in Niagara hit the water this weekend.
Since 1985, John Fulton, known as the 'Surfing Santa', has been braving the cold of the Niagara River on a paddleboard to raise awareness for poverty in the region.
This year, the strong winds threw him into the drink a few times as he made his annual 5k trek from Mather Park to the Niagara Parkway marina yesterday.
Fulton uses the occasion to encourage onlookers to donate socks, underwear, and other toiletries to help those in need.
