Looking to start up a new community garden or grow an existing one? The City of St. Catharines is offering funding to help community gardens take root.
Charities and not for profit groups can apply for matching funding from the city to cover up to half the cost of starting up a community garden.
In a release, the city says the gardens can either be for personal use or for donation.
The city's horiticultural technician Ilyse Norton says “These gardens are not only places for residents to grow their own fresh produce, they help them strengthen their connections to the community.”
Applications are due Wednesday, March 15 at 4 p.m.
