We are getting our first update on the indefinite closure of a bridge in Welland.
City officials closed the Forks Road Bridge last Friday after an inspection of the bridge deemed the structure not safe.
The bridge is open to pedestrians, but vehicles are not allowed to cross.
Officials say a public open house will be held soon once engineering reports are received, analyzed, and options are determined.
Information about the condition of the Forks Road Bridge, potential options, and estimated costs will be provided to residents.
Bridge engineers and City Engineering staff will be in attendance.
City staff will also present the newly elected Council with an information report on December 11th.
