The Canadian National Exhibition is assuring visitors worried about yesterday's terror attack in Spain that a ''robust'' security plan is in place.

CEO Virginia Ludy say steps were taken to secure the perimeter and grounds and to monitor, control and restrict vehicle access to the site in Toronto in light of earlier terror attacks in London and Paris.

She says in a statement that they're also working with intelligence agencies, Toronto police and have hired security consultants to protect patrons throughout all 18 days of the exhibition, which opened today.

Ludy also expressed condolences to the victims of yesterday's van attack that claimed 13 lives and left more than 100 injured in Barcelona.
