Officials with Canadian Niagara Power advising customers they weren't the ones calling Monday threatening to cut power off.
CNP, which services the Fort Erie/Port Colborne area says between 12 and 15 customers received calls from somone threatening to disconnect their hydro if they didn't immediately pay off the balance on their account.
Some customers told the utility, the caller ID showed up as CNP.
CNP officials note if there is an overdue account, the account holder is notified by letter and then a follow up call is made to arrange payment.
