IceDogs goaltender Colton Incze made 40 saves, including many game savers, in a Niagara 3-2 overtime win at home over Sudbury. Drew Hunter scored the OT winner 2:36 into the 3 on 3 extra period.
A scoreless first saw each team kill of a penalty with Sudbury recording 10 of the 17 shots.
Matt Philip was able to bury a rebound on one of 10 second period shots at 17:28, with Akil Thomas and Dan singer recording assists. Incze was outstanding making 15 saves.
In the third, Sudbury tied the score on the power-play with under eight to play but Philip's second of the night and 10th of the year at 16:20 restored the advantage. Akil Thomas was knocked down twice before getting a right-wing shot on goal that was redirected. With 2:11 left, right point shot once again evened the count at two. A wide open final period saw Sudbury fire 14 towards the IceDogs goal, with the home offence replying with 12 of their own.
In overtime, Drew Hunter got free in behind the Wolves defence and was able to convert his own rebound. Johnny Corneil and Ben Jones collected assists. For Jones, that helper extends his point streak to 10 games. Each team had three shots in overtime, with Sudbury holding the edge for the game, 42-33.
