A new committee called "Bridging the Gap" has formed in Dain City to address the issues that have come up since the closure of the Forks Road Bridge last year.
The bridge was ultimately demolished after it was determined last year to be unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians.
Residents are now left with only one road in and out of the area, which is raising questions about emergency evacuation protocol.
Sharon Major from the Bridging the Gap Committee joined CKTB earlier today and explained the whole saga has been very frustrating for residents as day-to-day traffic has also been significantly impacted with no bridge crossing.
She hopes the newly formed group will be able to raise awareness for the need of a crossing, and generate a dialogue so that ward councillors will make the push to get a bridge built.
