Hundreds of children in Niagara are depending on the generosity of residents and local businesses to help them head back to school.
The Snacks and Sneakers program, which helps equip kids with back-to-school items, will be held next Wednesday at Community Care's office on North Street in St.Catharines.
The program, which is so popular some parents sleep in the parking lot to get in line, is once again being sponsored by the Canadian Tire Financial Services and Jumpstart.
The program provides a pair of shoes, a backpack, school supplies, and snacks for a week to kids from kindergarten up to Grade 12.
Over 1300 children received help last year.
Community Care CEO Betty Lou Souter says donations are still needed to make the program a success.
