A local man says he fears for the safety of his children after getting word a convicted killer has applied for an escorted temporary absence.
Steve Taylor took to Facebook, posting the letter detailing Elio Caputo's request to visit St. Catharines for 'family contact purposes.'
In his post, Taylor says the request makes him sick to his stomach as he recalls the man stalking and terrorizing his seventeen year old sister Cara before she was murdered in 1993.
During Caputo's trial, the court heard the St. Catharines man went to her home with a fake gun, tied her wrists and mouth with duct tape, and sexually assaulted her.
As of this morning, Taylor post has been shared more than 300 times, with concerned citizens echoing his shock.
