Do you have a green thumb, but live in a home or apartment with limited space?
Well here is your chance to get outside and plant a garden.
The city of Niagara Falls, along with the DSBN, Project SHARE and Links for Greener Learning are working together to create an outdoor learning centre with 40 community garden beds at Westlane Secondary School.
Once installed, partners will deliver programming to youth and adults on how to grow fruits and vegetables, healthy cooking seminars and environmental study.
Portions of the produce grown at the garden will be donated to Project SHARE and sold at the Niagara Falls Farmer’s Market to help offset future costs.
Residents can now register to reserve a garden plot of their own through Links of Greener Learning.
The build day is May 26th and the grand opening is scheduled Wednesday, June 14t
