The company behind a Pelham pot producer has axed its CEO and the chairperson has resigned as part on an ongoing investigation into claims of unlicensed growing at the greenhouse.
The firing and resignation comes after several media reports say internal documents from CannTrust show the pair knew about growing operations in unlicensed rooms.
Last month Health Canada flagged non-compliance issues at the Pelham facility, saying rooms were used to grow cannabis before official approval was granted by the governing body.
In a release, CannTrust officials say, "Our first priority is to complete the remaining items of our investigation and bring the Company's operations into full regulatory compliance."
The company is also planning to make more operational changes in the coming weeks.
