Niagara's Regional Chair and the Mayor of Niagara Falls penning an open letter to the Minister of Finance over the impact OLG modernization will have on the area.
The letter raises red flags over job losses, lost payroll and lost revenue.
Back in November, Regional Council unanimously endorsed a motion asking the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's modernization Request for Pre-Qualifications and Request for Proposals be postponed.
In its current form, the process could mean up to 1400 jobs lost, along with millions of dollars for local businesses and the regional economy.
It was last April the OLG informed Falls Management Group, which runs Fallsview Casino and Casino Niagara, that the current contract wouldn't be extended beyond the original term, which expires June 10, 2019.
The OLG then issued a request for pre qualification as part of the modernization plan.
