A federal Conservative leadership candidate who shares some of Donald Trump's immigration ideas says she's been the victim of an apparent break-in attempt at her home in Creemore, Ontario.
In a statement last night, M-P Kellie Leitch says she was notified by a riding association volunteer that someone claiming to know her address was offering it up online to anyone interested in doing her harm.
Leitch says the ``threatening activity'' was reported to OPP Friday night and her home alarm sounded early Saturday, but police found no intruder.
Leitch skipped out on a leadership debate yesterday to meet with a private security consultant.
The MP has courted a lot of controversy since announcing her bid to replace Stephen Harper, making headlines for a plan that would see all newcomers to Canada screened for "anti-Canadian values."
