A pair of explosive reports in the St. Catharine's Standard today.
The paper has obtained a copy of the audit currently being done by the province's Auditor General on allegations of improprieties at the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
The Standard says the audit reveals several questionable contracts issued by the agency including one that was given to now regional CANO Carmen D'Angelo
A second investigative report by Standard reporter Grant Lafleche includes copies of documents that show D'Angelo allegedly downloaded documents from staff at Regional Chair Alan Caslin's office that included questions and answers he would be asked when he was interviewed for the high level regional job.
Speaking to CKTB's Tim Denis this morning, LaFleche says the documents show "a pattern of here is information that Mr. D'Angelo had received from members of Mr. Caslin's staff that undoubtedly gave him an advantage in the hiring process."
Both D' Angelo and Caslin declined interview requests from the paper.
