The man who killed five people at a Calgary house party in 2014 will be transferred to a secure hospital in Edmonton where he reportedly will be allowed to take escorted trips into the community.
There is also the possibility he will be moved to a halfway house.
The Alberta Review Board made the decision last month, saying Matthew de Grood has been a model patient since he was found not guilty in the slayings because he was suffering
symptoms of schizophrenia .
De Grood fatally stabbed five people, all in their 20's at a house party celebrating the end of spring university classes.
