St. Catharines City council is looking at a new code of conduct, but without a so called 'snitch clause.'
Ahead of last night's meeting, some councillors spoke out against a portion of a new proposed code of conduct that would require councillors to inform the city clerk of any member of council, close family member, associate, or staff member who may not be in compliance with the code.
During the meeting, Councillor Joe Kushner asked for the code to pass without that contentious clause.
The code is now off to the city's integrity commissioner before council can formally approve it.
