The Niagara Region wants to crack down on Councillors cell phone use.
In March the Regional Chair sent an email to councillors on how to keep costs low when travelling.
Earlier today, Regional Clerk Laura Bubanko sent out an email advising councillors their cellphone roaming feature would be restricted as of Monday September 18th.
However, Alan Caslin now says the restriction set for Monday won't happen.
Caslin noting that without a vote of council, any new policies can't be carried out.
The matter will now be referred for a decision to the Corporate Services Committee and Regional Council.
Councillor's expenses have been under scrutiny lately after Fort Erie Councillor Sandy Annunziata billed taxpayers for his trips to Toronto to appear on a radio talk show.
