There could be changes coming to the countdown clocks you see at intersections across Toronto.
Why? Well no one seems to be able to agree who they are designed to help.
During a pedestrian safety blitz this week, Toronto cops explained the countdown clocks are for drivers so they know how much time they have to clear the intersection.
Pedestrians were told by police they are not supposed to step off the curb once the countdown clocks begins or if they see a flashing red hand.
But most people assume the clock is simply to let you know you are running out of time.
Toronto Mayor John Tory says it's time they get their messaging straight and is looking at launching a public education campaign.
