Fall court dates are expected to be confirmed today in the case of two Liberal party officials facing Election Act bribery charges in the 2015 Sudbury by-election.
Pat Sorbara, the premier's former deputy chief of staff, and Liberal fundraiser Gerry Lougheed both deny allegations they offered a would-be Liberal candidate a job or appointment to
get him to step aside for Glenn Thibault.
The former federal New Democrat M-P won the byelection and is now the provincial energy minister.
Their trials are expected to take place simultaneously starting September 7th and run through the end of October, meaning verdicts could come just months ahead of the provincial
election next June.
