Not only did a St. Catharines regional councillor lose his bid to stop the region from releasing a report on three complaints against him, he and his co complainant are now on the hook for more than $5,000 in legal fees.
A Welland judge yesterday throwing out a notice of motion filed by Andy Petrowski and Fort Erie resident Fred Bracken.
The pair tried to get the court to quash the release of a report by the region's integrity commissioner on three complaints filed against Petrowski.
The duo unsuccessfully attempted to argue the investigation and the region's Code of Conduct violate Petrowski's rights under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms
The judge quickly ruling the motion did not satisfy any elements of a court injunction
He then ordered the two to pay $5,500 in legal fees incurred by the region.
