A letter has been sent out to parents of a St. Catharines elementary school telling them that someone has tested positive for COVID-19.
School officials from Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School issued the letter Saturday stating that an individual at the school tested positive and was attending the school while infectious.
The letter states the positive confirmation was made today, and public health will be informing close contacts of the person this weekend.
A case has also been confirmed at Holy Cross Secondary. Read more about that here.
We learned of a third case at Eastdale Secondary School on Friday.
Two staff members at the Welland school have tested positive for COVID so far. It's not clear if the case confirmed Friday was in a staff member or student.
The other cases are in staff members at Mary Ward in Niagara Falls, and William Hamilton Merritt Elementary in St. Catharines.
