Like many other organizations, Niagara Parks will also be closing their public facing operations until April 6th.
Niagara Parks says they came to the decision after it was recommended by Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams that all public gatherings of over 250 people be suspended to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.
The closure extends to Niagara Parks attractions, restaurants, retail stores, and golf courses.
WEGO Green Line bus service and Falls Incline Railway are closed.
All public programming and events are also suspended.
Recognizing that Niagara Parks offers many natural outdoor areas that will continue to draw guests, public washroom facilities will be remain open at Table Rock (outdoor only), Queen Victoria Place, Niagara Glen, and Butterfly Café.
Niagara Parks assures those facilities will be cleaned regularly.
In a release, Niagara Parks Chair Sandy Bellows says: “While we know that many families had planned on visiting Niagara Parks over the March break, the health and safety of our guests and our staff must come first. ”
