The family of an infant who was critically injured in an alleged drunk driving crash that killed his mother on Sunday says he has not regained consciousness.
The family tells C-T-V News Toronto that the two-month-old boy underwent surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children to relieve pressure on his brain caused by severe head injuries.
But they say he has not woken up since another car slammed into the back of the vehicle he and his mother were travelling in near Kitchener -- killing the 29-year-old woman from London.
The driver of the other vehicle is facing several charges including impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and failure to provide a breath sample.
