The Niagara Region's controversial CAO is heading to China.
The Standard has learned Carmen D'Angelo, whose hiring is under investigation by the Ontario Ombudsman, will travel to China next month, along with a handful of regional staffers, where he will represent Niagara at the China International Import Expo in Shangai from November 6th to the 10th.
In an email to the paper, regional spokesman Jason Tamming says the Niagara private/public contingent will consist of up to 30 people and will have five booths at the expo promoting local business.
