Former Premier Dalton McGuinty and his one time Finance Minister, Dwight Duncan, have been ordered to testify in a lawsuit launched by a group of horse breeders.
The group is suing the province and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for $65 million for cancelling a slot machine revenue-sharing program with the horse racing industry.
According to a report in the Hamilton Spec, the breeders allege that powerful individuals secretly decided to scrap the slots deal before it was raised at a key cabinet meeting on Feb. 8, 2012.
On April 30th that same year, racinos at the Fort Erie Racetrack, as well as Windsor and Sarnia were closed throwing nearly 600 people out of work.
The government justified the closures saying it was part of the OLG"s new modernization plan.
