The mayor of Fort Erie says the damage from Thursday's wind and rain storm will be costly.
Wayne Redekop tells CKTB's Matt Holmes repairs to the shoreline protections at Waverly Beach, alone, will be upwards of a million dollars.
He says then you add in the infrastructure damage elsewhere, including in the Region, at Canadian Niagara Power and Niagara Parks Commission.
Redekop says they will be looking at every opportunity possible to solicit funds from upper levels of government to help the area recover from storm.
