A day after aerialist Erendira Wallenda, performed a high flying stunt over the mighty Niagara, comes word of a tragic end to another stunt.
New York State Parks Police just revealing they found the body of daredevil Kirk R. Jones on June 2nd in the Niagara River.
Jones made headlines in 2003 after becoming the first person to go over the falls without protection and survive.
Two weeks ago, Jones' body was found downriver from the falls after he apparently tried again.
Police spokesman Det. Sgt. Brian Nisbet tells the Syracuse Post- Standard, investigators determined Jones had been in the Niagara Falls area on April 19th and "may have been attempting a stunt by going over Niagara Falls in a large inflatable ball."
Nesbit says police spotted the 10-foot ball spinning in the rapids above the falls that day.
He adds it went over and was recovered with no one inside by a Maid of the Mist boat.
