The province's Labour Ministry is investigating after the tragic death of a worker at a construction site in Welland.
Emergency officials were called to the site on King Street yesterday afternoon just before 2:30, where a worker was criticially injured after he was struck in the head by some falling construction materials.
NRP Constable Phil Gavin tells us, the 43 year old victim, who lived outside Niagara, died in hospital from his injuries.
Gavin says the man's identity is not being released at the request of his family.
A 130 unit retirement home is under construction on the site.
