The death toll from Florence has now hit at least 32 with fatalities reported in North and South Carolina and Virginia.
Officials are handing out food and supplies now that the rains have finally begun to stop.
Help was even able to reach the people of Wilmington, North Carolina, a city that had been completely cut off by floodwaters. Officials were able to open one road as of midday yesterday.
The governors of Virginia and South Carolina are praising the work of emergency responders while North Carolina's governor Roy Cooper has posted a video of the destruction, saying, "I do know that we will bounce back, and that this community will recover. I know the kind of people who live here, and I know North Carolinians want to help."
