The OPP released an updated number of the rising death toll on provincial roads.
Since the start of the new year, 26 people have died.
This is an increase of 271% from 2017.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt touches on the importance of driving to road and weather conditions.
"I know we're still in the depths of winter, there is still alot of winter weather to come. When we go from, freezing temperatures to fall temperatures we get a lot of rain and moisture and wet roads, they usually freeze as well. When we know we still have months of winter left we have to make sure we are on guard and on attention at all times when we are driving. Because the consequences of our driving can actually be far more than just a fender bender and that would be completely devastating."
Twitter and facebook users are reminding friends and family of the rising death toll.
The hashtag's SEE SNOW GO SLOW and DRIVE SAFE, are a popular trend right now.
