After four months, 61 witnesses and more than 300 exhibits filed, a New Brunswick judge is scheduled to deliver his decision in the retrial of Dennis Oland.
The former financial adviser is charged with second-degree murder in the death of his multi-millionaire father Richard Oland, who was found beaten to death on July 6th, 2011.
Oland's 2015 conviction was set aside on appeal the following year due to an error in the judge's charge to the jury, and the new trial was ordered.
In closing remarks at the retrial, the Crown said the blows suffered by Richard Oland went well beyond what was needed to kill him and that it was a crime of passion.
