By the end of the month we should learn the fate of two men convicted in the murder of a Toronto woman.
The pair were found guilty of first-degree murder in the presumed death of 23 year old Laura Babcock.
Yesterday, victim impact statements were read aloud during the beginning of Dellen Millard and Mark Smich's sentencing hearing, including one from Babcock's family. They stated they hate Millard and Smich for taking the young woman's life when she should still be laughing and dancing.
Previously, the two were found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of an Ancaster man, Tim Bosma.
First-degree murder carries an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for at least 25 years; the judge will now decide whether to impose consecutive or concurrent periods of parole ineligibility.
A decision is expected on February 26th.
