Organizers for the 2021 Canada Summer games are frustrated with delays in funding.
The funding is a joint effort between the Federal, Provincial and local governments under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure program.
The program has been in place for over a year but has yet to finance any projects.
Chair of the 2021 Canada Games Host Society, Doug Hamilton, says organizers are worried the delays could derail construction of facilities all together.
The games are in August of 2021 and to complete construction of facilities in time for the games Hamilton says funding will need to be secured by late August, early September with construction crews breaking ground by the fall.
The Federal government is in support of the project and is looking to make it a priority in the coming months but there is resistance from the province.
