The design plans are in, but it will be next week at the earliest, before we know what the federal government has in store for the now closed Port Dalhousie piers.
A staff report is expected to go before St. Catharines council on Monday.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada closed the piers in April 2015 due to safety concerns.
St Catharines council has been advocating for a plan that would see the piers rebuilt so that pedestrians can once again walk on them and boats can moor as well.
But that option carries a $33 million dollar and Ottawa has yet to commit to funding the replacement plan.
