Game first star Stephen Dhillon put on a goaltending clinic Saturday night in Owen Sound, but it wasn’t enough as the IceDogs lost 2-1 in overtime. Dhillon made 53 saves, including 20 in the third through overtime.
Playing their third game in three days against a veteran lineup for the Attack, the IceDogs would get the lead four minutes in as Johnny Corneil netted his third. Corneil converted a rebound off a Hayden Davis right point shot.
The lead stood up until the last minute of the second, when a point shot got through a maze of bodies and found the back of the net. The third solved nothing, with the winner sneaking by Dhillon 2:58 into overtime on a rebound after three outstanding saves.
Its a few days off before a visit from Hamilton Thursday night. 610 CKTB has all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30.
