A mental health survey by the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health is painting a dire picture for Ontario's adults.
According to the latest CAMH Monitor survey, self reports of fair or poor mental health have increased from 7.1 percent, to 10.1 percent.
There was also a steep climb in adults reporting frequent mental distress, many of whom were women.
Officials also say thoughts of suicide doubled according to the results of the survey.
The findings fall in line with stats coming from CAMH's Emergency Department, where visits have increased by 70 percent between 2012 and 2017.
