The IceDogs hosted the first ever Pride Game in CHL history. While the home side lost 5-4 to Sarnia, the big winners were Pride Niagara and the You Can Play Project.
Oliver Castleman's first OHL goal evened the score after the Sting took an early lead. Ryan Mantha's power-play goal put the 'Dogs ahead before the visitors evened the score after 20.
Graham Knott would again tie the game, less than 4 minutes after Sarnia made it 3-2. A 5 on 3 power-play goal from Nikita Korostelev would make it 4-3 before intermission.
A disallowed third period goal would factor large as the Sting was able to extend the advantage to 5-3. Akil Thomas' third of the year with a little over two minutes left rounded out the game scoring.
A live post game auction of the IceDogs "Pride Jerseys" netted thousands for Pride Niagara and the You Can Play Project.
Next up, Oshawa comes to town Saturday night. The pre-game begins at 6:30 on 610 CKTB.
