St.Catharines residents will be able to have their say on double direct.
The public is invited to share their opinion on the proposal to change the way we elect regional councillors.
A town hall will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Robertson Hall inside the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.
Mayor Walter Sendzik will participate in a discussion on what the change would mean for residents, followed by a question and answer session.
The City Clerk will also be in attendance to answer questions about the process.
No RSVP is required to attend.
Under the double direct model there would still be 12 members of St. Catharines City Council, with each ward represented by two councillors.
However, six of the councillors would serve on both regional and city council, while the other six councillors would serve only on St. Catharines city council.
More information on the proposed double direct model is available at www.stcatharines.ca/DoubleDirect.
