Ontario's top politician joined CKTB today for a one-on-one interview.
Premier Doug Ford discussing various topics with CKTB's Tom McConnell ranging from gas prices, a deal with the province's doctors, reducing hallway medicine, and the PC's controversial Autism Program.
Ford says they have been moving at a rapid pace over the past eight months to find efficiencies, and give money back to the taxpayer.
When asked about his government's new autism program, Ford says he made 100 million dollars of emergency funding available to keep services and therapy afloat.
He says instead of leaving 23,000 children on wait lists, they needed to make a move to ensure all kids would receive some therapy.
He says his heart breaks when he hears the struggles of parents with autism, but they simply don't have billions and billions of dollars.
Ford says his government has been unfairly criticized on their autism program.
When asked about when details of the program that will kick in April 1st will be released, he says hopefully soon.
Ford says his government is moving forward to ban cell phones in classrooms, calling our current education system a mess.
