Premier Doug Ford will be in Grimsby this morning to announce a "Plan to Help End Hallway Healthcare in West Niagara" at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
The announcement is set for 10:00 a.m. and CKTB news will be there.
The hospital's future has been top of mind again in the last month after the Chief of Staff resigned following news that surgery and obstetrics programs would be removed from the hospital for over two years while renovations took place.
Former Chief of Staff Gary Benson said that would be the final blow for the hospital and services would most likely return to the hospital.
Earlier this month, the community held a public meeting where it was announced that Hamilton Health Sciences would be meeting with staff and start to look at ways to keep the departments running during those renovations.
Government sources are suggesting that today's announcement will be good news, hinting that obstetrics will not close at WLMH.
Both Health Minister Christine Elliott and Infrastructure Minister Monte McNaughton will be on hand with Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff for the announcement.
