Premier Doug Ford will not march in this year's Toronto Pride parade because organizers have again banned police in uniform from taking part.
A spokesperson for Ford says in a statement to Global News that the premier has always said he will attend the parade when front-line police officers are allowed to participate in uniform.
Uniformed officers were banned from marching in the parade in 2017 after concerns of racial profiling and Pride members voted 163-161 in January to keep the ban in place this year.
Interim Liberal leader John Fraser and Green Party leader Mike Schreiner say they will both be participating in the parade -- with Schreiner saying attendance should be an ``absolute no-brainer'' for any leader in 2019.
