As students head back for a first day of school like no other, drivers are being reminded to stay sharp.
Niagara Regional Police officers will be in school zones for the annual back to school traffic enforcement campaign.
They'll be watching for speeders, aggressive driving, and distracted drivers.
The police are also continuing their partnership with Niagara Student Transportation Services in regards to video surveillance on school buses.
Drivers are also reminded of the ten new community safety zones that have been set up around schools throughout the region.
Breaking any of the rules of the road within these marked areas could result in double the usual amount of fines.
Police will be focusing on education to start, but by September 21st community safety zone enforcement begins in earnest.
