The District school Board of Niagara spent the night discussing the location for a new 'mega' high school.
DSBN voted to close high schools in Grimsby, Beamsville and Smithville and replace it with one large school.
On Jan. 23rd the board ratified the location at 4670 Durham road.
Cheryl Keddy-Scott, the Community Care manager of West Niagara and Trustee for DSBN tells us they're excited to move forward.
She also mentions the school will encompass the needs of all students from arts to athletics.
The new high school is slated to open in September of 2020.
The Ontario government has committed 41 million dollars to the construction of the project.
The school boards next move is waiting for the funding approval of the land.
