A happy ending to the story about an elderly Niagara couple who were separated because of bed shortages.
MPP Wayne Gates revealed that Clarence and Jessie Terpstra will be reunited at Shalom Manor in Grimsby on Wednesday --- in time to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary next month.
The couple, ages 93 and 92, need long term care but were placed in separate facilties.
Gates says the separation was taking its toll on their health, but now they'll be together.
He calls it "a real good news story" and says they should never have been separated in the first place
Gates says he's been working directly with the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Eric Hoskins to have the couple reunited.
